Jen is leading the way on the Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge project.
Women in Construction Week is a time to say thank you to all the women throughout the industry who work tirelessly to get the job done, and Jen DeLong is the perfect encapsulation of that. Working with Stacy Witbeck for 12 years, she began her career as a field engineer as has taken on multiple roles to help build infrastructure in Washington, Utah, and Oregon.
Jen says her “say yes” approach has served her well over her career. She believes many aspects of this industry remain unknown until people dive into the work themselves. By embracing new opportunities – even those outside of one’s comfort zone – people can uncover strengths they never knew they had and find their niche within the organization. This mindset has inspired those she works with, encouraging them to adopt the same willingness to learn and grow – something she learned from conversations with her own mentors.
