  • 1981

    Stacy Witbeck forms in San Francisco, quickly making a name for ourselves by rehabilitating the historic cable car lines.

  • 1994

    We expand to Portland, Oregon; in the years since, we’ve constructed the city’s entire streetcar system and multiple light rail and commuter rail lines.

  • 1998

    We start work in Salt Lake City and are still there. Since then, we’ve constructed over 135 miles of track in the region.

  • 2003

    We expand to the state of Washington. We have maintained our presence in the Evergreen State, constructing and maintaining streetcar, light rail, and commuter rail systems.

  • 2004

    We broaden our reach to the Southwest, picking up our first job in Phoenix. We’re still actively building the region’s light rail, streetcar, and maintenance facilities.

  • 2008 - 2009

    We won our first of many jobs in Denver, Dallas, and Houston, expanding our alternative delivery resume with these major CM/GC and design-build projects.

  • 2011

    Modern Railway Systems (MRS) joins the team as a wholly-owned subsidiary specializing in signaling and communications.

  • 2013

    We continue expanding with project wins in Midwestern cities like Kansas City and Detroit. In the years since, the corridors in these two cities have experienced $9 billion in economic development.

  • 2014

    We are awarded the $1.5 billion Mid-Coast Corridor Project in San Diego, SANDAG’s first CM/GC procurement.

  • 2018

    We are contracted to rehabilitate the historic Pikes Peak and Manitou Springs Cog Railway—one of only two cog railways in the country.

  • 2019

    Our team broke ground on Brightline Zone 4, a 130-mile higher-speed rail system connecting the cities of Orlando and Miami.

  • 2020

    The Ogden BRT project began construction, despite the challenges of the global pandemic.

  • 2021

    We celebrated our 40th year providing excellent service to clients!

  • 2022

    Stacy Witbeck is selected for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's first two progressive design-build projects.

  • 2023

    Stacy Witbeck's team is selected as the track and systems contractor for the 218-mile Brightline West High Speed Rail project

    Stacy Witbeck is selected for the first contract within Amtrak's Frederick Douglass Tunnel Rehabilitation program in Baltimore, MD and the Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge Project in Portland, OR.
