This project restored four historic fountain parks built between 1966 and 1970 as part of the Portland Development Commission’s first urban renewal project that redeveloped a 55-block swath of inner SW Portland. The sites included the Keller Fountain, Pettygrove Park, Lovejoy Fountain, and The Source Fountain. Scope included a variety of site and fountain improvements such as fountain mechanical renovations, concrete and masonry restoration, replacement of lighting and electrical circuits, metal railing improvements, drainage system upgrades, and replacement of historic architectural covers.
This project was unique in that it required restoration of four registered historic landmark parks in downtown Portland. We worked closely with PP&R and the design team to find ways to implement the design and work through constructability issues to ensure that the design intent was achieved.
